Vatican City… the world’s smallest country, the world headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church and home of the Pope. Within its scant 100 acres lies an amazing treasure trove of priceless art and architecture.
Our Via Francigena walk began in the Vatican City at St. Peter’s Basilica. The city is compact and crowded with tourists, but splendid nonetheless. Before actually beginning the walk, we took a tour to learn more about the city and St. Peter’s and view some of the Vatican’s many iconic treasures.
