We’ve sailed, we’ve walked, we’ve ‘vanned’, and now we’re bicycling. David practically lived on his bike as a kid and when our kids were young, we bicycled with them, but it had been years since we owned or rode bicycles. After reading several articles about all the developed bike trails across the USA, our interest was piqued. Not knowing if we’d really like it or could even do it, we bought $99 Walmart Roadmaster bikes. No frills, just two wheels and we were off. And we loved it… except for our saddle-sore butts. After a couple of longer bicycling treks, we decided to upgrade to REI pedal-assist e-bikes which increased our speed, lessened our saddle time, and thus increased our distance goals.
Though we rarely sail anymore, we’re still walking, love van-camping and road trips, and we’ve discovered bicycling provides yet another way to travel and enjoy being on the road… or on the trail. Come on along with us on some of our biking trips.
Stay tuned. As we ride more trails, we’ll update this page. Thanks for riding along with us.
